OTU Parade Ground Photos

The attached photographs show a Parade on the OTU Parade Ground. They were sent to the then Editor of The Scheyvillian, Alan Storen (1/67) some years ago.

 

Photo Q2: When lined up on the Parade Ground a larger class is seen at the front, with a smaller class at the rear.

This is the usual format for a Mid-Term Church Parade, when the Juniors had been at OTU for about 3 weeks.

From the relative class numbers the ‘Senior Class’ at front is larger than the ‘Junior Class’ in the rear so it is not a 4th Intake as the Senior Class.

To the right of the line-up can be seen the Governor-General’s Banner, so the parade is post Class 2/67 Senior Class as they received the G-Gs Banner.

Photo Q6 shows the formation of a ‘Hollow Square’ and the Chaplain in front of the Band (ie a Church Parade)
