SCHEYVILLIANS: ANOTHER LAST-MINUTE CHRISTMAS GIFT?

SCHEYVILLIANS: ANOTHER LAST-MINUTE CHRISTMAS GIFT?

1/66’s Brian Vickery’s story Down from the Mountain: The Path of a Baby Boomer includes his National Service and Officer Training where in the end the Army had achieved its aim and turned the reluctant ‘mountain boy’ into a man and a warrior and his road to Vietnam whereby he doubled his National Service commitment from two to four years and volunteered for a tour of duty in Vietnam. Brian describes in details his operations in Vietnam with 9 RAR and the inevitable humour that soldiers always seem to be able to find in most situations, no matter how dire.

The book then moves on to describe Brian’s 26-year military career that included postings to the ‘Jungle Training Centre (Canungra), Darwin, Hong Kong, Brunei and an exchange to Fort Carson in Colorado. The book is priced at $37 including postage to your location within Australia. To order send an email to Brian at brianv@bigpond.com
