OTU Membership Renewal – Reminder

OTU ASSOCIATION                                                                                                                                                                                                                                                              2nd December 2020

NATIONAL COMMITTEE

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL FY 2020/21 – REMINDER

Gentlemen,

With 613 membership renewals received to date for FY 2020/21, we are, at the half-way mark of the year, still somewhat short of achieving the 650 financial members we had last financial year.

If you have received this letter, you are unfinancial.

Interestingly, we have 86 members who were financial last year but are yet to renew this year. If they all renew, we will be in for a bumper year.  Nevertheless, if members are no longer interested in supporting the Association, please return the attached Membership Renewal Form (notated accordingly), to help us refine our database.

With our next National Reunion in October 2021, we are trying to keep our Association viable and our database up to date.  If you are intending to come on board and support the Association, your action on this front would be appreciated as soon as possible.

Three options are available when renewing membership:

  • Complete the Membership Renewal Form, attach a cheque and send it to our Treasurer,
  • Use the information of the Membership Renewal Form to pay by Direct Debit.
  • Access the website, www.otu.asn.au and pay by PayPal.

If you are paying by Direct Debit or PayPal and haven’t recently updated your personal details in the website, could you please take the time to complete and return the Membership Renewal Form so that we can confirm/amend your details for you.

It would help if we could receive your renewal by 31 December 2020.

Cheers.

FW: Don’t strip my dead son’s award from us

Dear OTU Association members, I have received the correspondence below from David Coulter (1/69).

For your information,

Frank Miller,

Chairman OTU Association.

Dear Frank,

Despite the horrendous nature of the stories and Chief of Defence Force Angus Campbell’s many media appearances of late, I am becoming quite incensed at the treatment handed out to ‘untainted’ members of the SAS and the defence forces in general. Today’s article on page 3 of The Australian was the last straw.

I am sure most OTU graduates would have been watching the unfolding issue closely and it is not my purpose in writing to go over the details. Suffice it to say, I believe the issue has been dragged out over too many years and now exposed to the Australian public in a most sensational manner to draw attention away from some of the sordid issues (COVID-19 excluded) currently facing the Morrison government.

I would support some form of discussion amongst members with a view to strengthening support for the petition to “maintain the memory of our meritorious many”.

The link to the petition is https://www.voiceofaveteran.org/petition

Regards,

David Coulter
