For those who would like a great reminder of the format of a Graduation Church Parade, which is similar to a Graduation Parade except that the G-G Banner Party is Marched Off separately instead of the Senior (Graduating Class) marching off through the Junior Class.

The Freeman Brothers, Ian (1/68) and David (2/71) have provided a set of slides, which, as it turns out, was of the 1/71 Graduation Church Parade in which David participated.

The funeral for Bob Thomson (OTU 3/66) will be held on Thursday 13 August 2020 at 1300 hrs at The Gold Creek Chapel,17 O’Hanlon Place, Nicholls, ACT. Members are asked to wear medals and Aviators asked to wear berets.

Subject: Vale – John Parker

Classmates,

i am very sad to advise that John Parker died this afternoon. John had heart surgery on Monday which seemed to go OK but he then suffered a series of strokes.

He has been a close mate of mine for over 60 years, and you will all have known him well enough to appreciate his fine qualities. As one of our golf group said this afternoon, he could always hit the ball straight down the fairway, and thats the way he was in life. A great bloke who will be missed very much.

John’s wife Sue and his son and daughter were able to be with him over the past day.
