As always, smart casual, good humour, around $45 and evidence of your triple vax please (condition of entry to RACV).

As a reminder, to keep the costs down, please keep to beer or soft drink or house red and white wines and we keep the meals around the $20-$25 mark, just a main course and then tea and coffee. This should normally keep the cost around $45 per head.

MEMBERSHIP RENEWAL NOTICE FOR 2022/23

 

Gentlemen,

 

It is now time to renew your financial membership for 2022/2023.  We had 658 financial members supporting the Association in 2021/2022, which is just above the 650 we had at the end of 2020/2021 and 2021/2022.  It would appear that, whilst we are ‘plateauing’, there is life in the old dogs yet and we are retaining our financial membership. We are finding that, as our members are retiring from work, they are enjoying the activities that the Association provides and are seeking out their classmates.

 

If you have not been financial, but have enjoyed the fellowship that the Association offers through Chapter activities, ANZAC Day marches/functions, class reunions, The Scheyvillian, OTU merchandise and the Coffee Table Book, please consider supporting the Association in 2022/2023 by becoming a financial member.  If you no longer wish to be part of the OTU Association, just return the Membership Renewal Form notated accordingly.

 

Three options are available when renewing your financial membership:

 

• Complete the attached Membership Renewal Form, attach a cheque, and send it to our Treasurer.
• Use the information on the attached Membership Renewal Form to pay by Direct Debit.
• Access the website, otu.asn.au, and pay by PayPal.

(To do this you will need to log in using your regimental number & surname, then go to the Q Store tab on the top menu. After adding a subscription to your cart, click on “checkout” not “continue shopping”). You do not need to have a PayPal account to use this secure credit card gateway.

 

If you are paying by direct debit, or PayPal, please also take the time to check your personal profile on the website and update your details.

 

It would help if the bulk of our membership renewals were completed by

OCTOBER OTU ASSOCIATION NATIONAL REUNION

 

Dear Scheyvillians, as previously announced the National Reunion will comprise a Dinner on Friday 14^th October 2022 with Saturday 15^th October being set aside for individual class reunions. On Sunday 16^th October a BBQ Lunch will be at Scheyville itself.

 

Further information concerning accommodation in the Windsor region and possible venues for Class reunion activities is detailed in the latest “Scheyvillian”.

 

The National Executive has agreed to provide a substantial subsidy towards the reunion costs.

 

 

Details

Friday 14 October 2022 National Reunion Dinner will be held in The Ted McCabe Function Centre, Hawkesbury Race Club, 1 Racecourse Road, Clarendon NSW.

 

Dress: lounge suit for gentlemen. Miniatures may be worn. Timings:

 

Registration                                      6.00 pm – 6.30 pm

Pre-Dinner Drinks and Canapes       6.15 pm – 7.00 pm

Entry to Function Venue                  7.00 pm – 7.15 pm

Dinner                                               7.15 pm – 10.45 pm

Comradeship                                   10.45 pm – 11.30 pm

 

Cost: The cost of the dinner, including canapes, pre-dinner drinks, three course meal and 5-hour premium beverage package will be $125.00 per head.

 

The Guest Speaker will be former OTU DS LTCOL Tony Larnach-Jones OAM (Retd).

 

Bookings are to be made through the Eventbrite on-line system (below). Please note that attendance at Friday’s Dinner is limited to 400 persons so it will be “first in best dressed”.

 

Saturday 15 October 2022 is set aside for individual class reunions.  Classes are advised to appoint a coordinator to make the best of this opportunity to catch up with so many friends from so long ago.

 

Sunday 16 October 2022 BBQ Lunch at the Scheyville Site.

This involves a visit to the former OTU Site at Scheyville National Park on Sunday from 11 am. A BBQ lunch will be provided, for $20.00 per head in the quadrangle of the former Officers’ Mess. Limited beer, wine and soft drinks will be provided free of charge by the Association. Again, bookings are to be made through the Eventbrite system. For catering purposes, bookings are essential.

 

Payment Through the Eventbrite System: Eventbrite is a simple and direct system through which people attending the Dinner and BBQ Lunch need book and make the appropriate payment. It accepts Credit/Debit cards and PayPal. The site is now open. Access is made through clicking on the link below. It is simple and straightforward.

 

Please note: Bookings close on 30 September. Table allocations will be by Class wherever possible.
