Victorian Chapter Events for Year 2022

Victorian Chapter Events for Year 2022

Dear Victorian Chapter members,

Due to the Covid pandemic we were unable to hold most of our popular functions over the past two years. The Geddes Dinner, Mixed Luncheon and the Victorian Dinner all had to be set aside due lockdowns, or the very risk they would present to our membership out of lockdown. Fortunately, we have been able to enjoy a few monthly RACV lunches over that time.
The situation for this year has been reviewed and an approach agreed. Bearing in mind the age of our membership and of the wives/partners, any future event may only be contemplated if it were to pose a minimal to zero risk. For the present, the problem with the Omicron variant is considered unacceptably high.
The possibility of another Covid variant emerging in the future must also be taken into account.
In essence, the situation will be closely monitored and, should it be deemed safe to hold one of these key events further down the track, plans will be put in place.
We are keen to recommence our social programme – but only when it is safe to do so.
The present intention is to march under the Scheyville banner in the April ANZAC Day pilgrimage to the Shrine.
We will keep you informed.

Frank Miller .

CLASS 3/67 MARCH INS AND DNGS

Class 3/67 Scheyvillians

The association does not hold the B Class March In photo for Class 3/67, or any paperwork to give a list of March Ins for Class 3/67.

If you have either of the above can you please send them to me!

In the meantime, I have received information that a Roger Davey may have been a 3/67 class member who DNG. He recently died and I have received a Statement of Service for him that showed he enlisted on 12 July 67 and commenced at 3 TB on 20 Sep (10 weeks later to the day). Discharge was early February 1968 so must have been medically discharged.

There was no Davey in the A Class photo, so if anyone has a B Class photo, March In paperwork, or remembers a Davey in Junior Class, can you please advise me??

Dunsoc Vic Luncheon #1 2022

The following email has been received from The Committee, Duntroon Society Victoria:

Dear Members,
>
We hope you had a great Christmas and enjoyed the break for the New Year.  Let’s all hope that 2022 will be a better year for all of us.
>
In our end of year report we forecast that our first activity for 2022 would be a Dunsoc Vic table at the MCC Military Veterans Group luncheon planned for 17 March.  We have just been advised that the luncheon date has been changed to Wednesday 23 March.  Would you please make the change in your diaries.  We will send out a flyer with booking and payment details closer to the date.
>
We look forward to catching up in person with as many members as possible (virus restrictions permitting).
>
In the meantime, stay safe and well,
>
Best regards,
>
